Harold and Burns (2007)
One of my goals in making a thesis film was to produce something I could use to develop and demonstrate my visual effects skills. I set off on a very ambitious project, with over 40 VFX shots, a little more than half the number I did for Lycan (AKA Werewolf:The Devil's Hound) working full time for two months. Unfortunately, I had to finish this off in a semester while taking a full course load. I also made the mistake of choosing a rabbit as my creature and taking on CG fur for the first time. The fur was a nightmare!
This movie really turned out to be a challenge. It required two full CG creatures (a rabbit and a giant rabbit,) a digital human stunt double, a CG tongue, several photorealistic digitally reconstructed sets, and loads of motion tracking. Take a look below at some of my effects work from the movie.
