A Machu Picchu Proposal

A Machu Picchu Proposal has been announced! It’s premiering June 28th on Hallmark. This movie is the second in a row that I shot in South America this year, immediately following Polar Opposites. For the third time in a row, it stars Rhiannon Fish. It was an amazing opportunity to get to do three movies in one year with her and I think the experience paid off in this one.

Katie (Rhiannon Fish) is travels to Peru with Dan, her twin brother, to help plan the perfect proposal for his Peruvian girlfriend, Luciana. Katie’s Spanish skills will also come in handy when Dan meets Lucy’s extended family! However, their plans are foiled time and again by Lucy’s friend from culinary school, Carlos (Alec Santos). He is a charming and adventurous free spirit and his almost spiritual commitment to living in the moment clashs with Katie’s inflexible plans.

We filmed this 100% in the Sacred Valley in Peru. It was a really special trip and working with writer Juliana Wimbles and Peruvian producer Mayra Callo, we were able to adapt the story to showcase the beautiful region. We started in Cusco, where we filmed several days, and then descended into the valley to shoot Urubamba, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Maras, and more. We traveled to Machu Picchu, as well, where we actually filmed on location.

This movie marks my 6th collaboration with producer David Boyles and my 10th for Tim Johnson and his Johnson Production Group. I’m grateful for the trust they have in me and for the collaborative creative environment that they foster.
