Love on the Amazon

Love on the Amazon premiered January 17, 2026 on Hallmark. This was really a special project for me. Following Machu Picchu Proposal, we returned to Peru to film this movie. This time, we landed in Iquitos, in the heart of the Amazon to film this river adventure.
From the beginning, it was inspired by African Queen, one of my favorite adventure/romance classics and arguably an archetype of the genre. It’s the story of Claire, a vice principal who has to make an urgent trip to find her sister in the Amazon. She hires a boat captain from her sister’s social media friends and ends up taking a long and difficult journey up the Amazon in Brazil through rapids, jungle, shallow waters, local towns, rain, and around all kinds of wildlife in this romantic adventure.
The movie stars Jaicy Elliot and Rafael de la Fuente and brings back Raissa Xavier from Polar Opposites.
We filmed this movie 100% in the Amazon, based out of Iquitos, Peru. The river scenes were all actually filmed on the river in a real moving boat. You can see some behind the scenes footage courtesy of Hollyware Productions below!
